Hi,

I've recently migrated an hand-installed sympa 6.1.24 over Debian 7 to a packaged sympa 6.1.70 over Debian 12.
Lot of stuff needed to be moved around in the filesystem, but once everything was in place, the upgrade process went quite smoothly.

For the distribution, Debian or RHEL and clones are good choices, but not the only ones. Go with the distribution you are the most confortable with.
Debian usually doesn't have the latest version, which is currently 6.2.78. Debian 13 ships sympa 6.2.76. Racke is taking care of the Debian package.
On the RHEL side, sympa package is available in EPEL, and I keep it updated to the latest version.

Regards,
Xavier

Dears,

I have an old version of Sympa running on old RHEL, which OS
distribution would be the best and has less problems for upgrading
easily across major versions without a lot of downtime or
disruption and would support Sympa latest version?

Thank you

Regards,

_Saad_
