auth.conf is used to configure authentication on the web interface.

Sending mail to a mailing list is entierely different, and is not governed by auth.conf, but by the mailing list configuration.
On a subscriber only mailing list, someone subscribed as address@concealed will be allowed to post with this address, and only this address. Even if address@concealed is an alias to address@concealed.

Is it possible to override this somehow? I mean - lots of companies etc have multiple email addresses per person, such as address@concealed and address@concealed and perhaps address@concealed. It would be really handy if all of those would work also for sending emails, especially in cases where companies or organisations standardises on using an alternate email address (as compared to username-based), of which I already know a few.
