Thanks David - right, we were hoping that new setting would overcome this 
limitation, but so far in our testing we are still limited by the same result 
set size.

We ran into the same problem a couple of years back, and the problem 
then was that Microsoft limit LDAP responses to 1000 items:

It looks like you have to manually set the "pagesize" to be a value 
larger than 0 and less than 1000 in any ldap query clause that you have 
defined. Presumably you have already tried that?
