We ran into the same problem a couple of years back, and the problem 
then was that Microsoft limit LDAP responses to 1000 items:

I was hoping that the this would be fixed after Sympa 6.2.74 given:

Inclusion from LDAP data sources supports RFC 2696 Paged Results control

It looks like you have to manually set the "pagesize" to be a value 
larger than 0 and less than 1000 in any ldap query clause that you have 
defined. Presumably you have already tried that?
