Hi Hussain,

Out of the box in Sympa, no. For manually created lists, you're stuck with sed, but if can work well.

You also have the solution to find a rationale behind your lists management and use datasources to populate owners automatically. If a set of people is usually owners of a set of list, you can manage owners by includeing a list in which aall owners are subscribed (just an example, you can use MySQL queries, LDAP filters or anything).

Sympa is basically fit for industrialisation, but you need to anticipate this by creating list afamilies or defining owner and/or editor inclusions.

You can check owner inclusion parameter here: https://www.sympa.community/gpldoc/man/sympa_config.5.html#owner_include

And also the data inclusion file here: https://www.sympa.community/manual/customize/data-sources.html#data-inclusion-file

Finally, you can find documentation about list families here: https://www.sympa.community/manual/customize/basics-families.html

Families are the best option if you have a large organization and a reliable information system.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

David

Hi Hussain,

Starting 6.2.68, you can run the following commands from the shell:

sympa add [ "--force" ] [ "--notify" ] [ "--quiet" ] [ "role="role ] "list"@"domain"

sympa del [ "--force" ] [ "--notify" ] [ "--quiet" ] [ "role="role ] "list"@"domain"

(Side note: 6.2.70 is due soon and improves a lot of things, so if you plan an upgrade, I'd advise to wait for 6.2.70. I'm running the future 6.2.70 in production for a big domain and it works very well)

Cheers,

David

Hi All,

I was wondering if there was a quick way to add a single user as an owner to multiple lists. And vice versa remove a user as an owner from multiple lists.

I ask as we have high amount of turnaround in staff and this type of request comes in when they staff start or leave.

Thanks
