Thank you for the quick response!  So far just as a test I have confirmed that personalization_feature is set to on:

 

 

After this I restarted sympa and wwsympa.  I then created just a test with only what you listed below:

 

 

After sending a test email I am still just getting [% listname %] in the footer of the message not the listname.  message_footer is in /etc/sympa and I am running ver 6.2.68.  I have also run tests bases on the information in this article and it isn't working either:

Hi Rob,

 

Since Sympa 6.2.40, message.footer files have been renamed message_footer, as mentioned in https://www.sympa.org/NEWS.md

=> so you need to rename your file

 

Then, I suspect you want to use a variable in your message_footer to have a single file for all your lists.

=> your can replace "test" in your message_footer with "[% listname %]" to dynamically refer to the current list name.

=> move this message_footer in ~sympa/etc/ directory to make it apply to all your mailing lists

I have been assigned the task of building a new sympa server for our organization.  I had no previous knowledge of the product so please forgive my ignorance.  I recently got the message_footer template working so I can apply a footer to all the lists that get created.  The footer I have been asked to create is an automated unsubscribe link.  I have done what I believe to be a thorough search online and I am not coming up with any "templates" for this type of link aside from this:
