Hello Stefan,
so do you know if it's a feature implemented in a recent sympa build ?
Or is there a (hidden) way to do that ?

Hi Stefan,

thanks fo your reply, please can you tell me more ?
Do you really use console 'sympa --import=list@dom' ?

I have same behaviour on another server : welcome message sent on web
interface, but no welcome message sent with
command line, on a fresh created list with no customizing at all.
I tried with version 6.1.23 and 6.2.16, both installed via Debian apt.
I don't have this option quiet_subscription available : got error "Bad
entry", both in global sympa.conf or in list config.

Yes I did:
echo address@concealed | /usr/local/sympa/bin/sympa.pl --import
address@concealed
But this is on current Sympa, so older versions may behave differently.
Tip: always mention your Sympa version :-)
