Thanks Stefan!

I know of the anonymous_sender field. Whilst that wipes & rewrites the entire "From" field, I'd like a functionality where it retains the sender's name but hides/replaces his email address. In a closed list (which is what I am running), I'd live to lookup the sender's name in the DB's subscriber_table and distribute the message to the list from "Original Sender name <anonymous_sender email address>".

Any clue?

If this feature is not implemented yet, I'd love to implement it and contribute it back to Sympa. Yet, I am not sure where to start but in List.pm.

Cheers,

Stefan

Hi Sympa listmasters,

I have been crawling the documentation but could not find an adequate answer:
Is there a way to configure a list which retains the message's sender's ame
but hides his/her email address, please?

Thanks,
Stefan

There is the option "anonymous_sender" which replaces the sender's email
address but also hides the sender's name
(https://github.com/sympa-community/sympa/blob/sympa-6.2/src/lib/Sympa/Spindle/TransformIncoming.pm#L74).

It also passes through PGP signatures, which might not in the original sense
of that option.
