Hi;

We had this requirement at the last place I worked.  What we did there, was to make a special reply mail template, then have a custom send scenario that denied posting with this mail notification.  So, the list was not actually closed, but had a custom 'no posting' rule set.  After running in this mode for a while, it was finally completely closed.

Are there other options available? For example, if there were a forwarding / alias function we could send those requests to a mailbox

with an auto-reply.
