Dear sympa users and friends,
I have installed sympa (version 6.1.24) from package at Ubuntu 16.04.
As a new user I have some questions and would like some help:

1. By providing mail interface, messages sent to address@concealed are
processed as mail commands. For instance, if a list owner adds a new user,
this user will receive an email from address@concealed. But what if this
user needs to communicate with the listmaster by replying to this
address@concealed? He won't have any guidance, but will only get an email
"Command failed" or something like that. What can we do to avoid such
situations?

2. Sometimes, depending on the domain of the recipients, if one email address
in the members' list is not valid (does not exist), then all email addresses
of the domain are bounced. What is the proper way to handle this and send
individual emails bypassing the invalid address(es)? Increase VERP rate to
100% or another way? What about using merge_feature (personalization)? What is
the most appropriate?

3. How can I edit default VERP rate from 0% to another rate, globally for all
lists? I cannot find the way, neither by web interface, nor by editing a .conf
file.

4. How can I edit default merge_feature (personalization), globally for all
lists? I cannot find the way, neither by web interface, nor by editing a .conf
file.

5. If a subscriber posts a message using the web interface, then the other
members of the list will get that email but having a red flag (no encryption).
Why is this? How can we face this?

6. I am using the English and the Greek languages in sympa. The Logs tab in a
list (http://lists.example.org/wws/viewlogs/xxxxxx) works fine in English, but
appears with weird unreadable characters in Greek. Is this an encoding problem
in the Greek page "viewlogs"?

7. Is there a way to remove from users the ability to request the creation of
new lists?

8. Is there a way to remove from subscribers the ability to delete their own
messages from the web archives? I would like only the listowner or listmaster
to have this right.

9. Concerning the email headers (RFC 2369 headers) I can see that some headers
in the received emails are not valid! In particular, the List-Subscribe:
<mailto:address@concealed?subject=subscribe%20testmaillist> and List-
Unsubscribe:
<mailto:address@concealed?subject=unsubscribe%20testmaillist> do not
contain valid commands in the subject, thus they are returned as unrecognized
commands. Have you noticed that, or am I wrong?
How can I edit these headers?
Similar problem appears in other cases, for instance when successfully
unsubscribing from a list, the user gets informed that he may subscribe again
using an invalid command:
mailto:address@concealed?subject=sub%20testmaillist
I guess that the latter is only an outdated template problem.

10. Why all subscribe addresses are commented by default in the aliases file?
How can we allow the user to subscribe using the mail interface? (by default
without having to uncomment the aliases file...)

Kind regards,
thanks in advance

Dimitris
