yes (changed "o" permission to r);

aliases_program postmap (*)
aliases_db_type hash

(*) here I left postmap but no new lists has been created and I executed 
and tested both postmap and postalias on sympa_aliases

main.cf:
...
alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases,hash:/etc/sympa/sympa_aliases

alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases,hash:/etc/sympa/sympa_aliases

remember that I've configured it following the manual at 
https://sympa-community.github.io/manual/ whose last commit has been on 
2 Dec
