Hi,

We recently upgraded our sympa installation as part of an upgrade
of our underlying OS from Debian 7 to Debian 8. Since the upgrade,
we are encountering a problem with distribution of moderated messages.
When a moderator uses email with a distribute authorization in the
subject line, the message continues to sit in the moderation queue
unchanged. If the moderator logs into wwsympa and tries to distribute
the message, the message disappears from the web interface. In
/var/spool/sympa/moderate, the message is moved to a file with the same
name but the string “.distribute” appended to it. But the message is
never distributed and never leaves the moderate spool.

I’m at a loss as to where to even start trying to debug this issue.
Ownership and permissions on the /var/spool/sympa/moderation/* all
look reasonable (owner sympa.sympa, permission rw-r——). There are no
error messages in any of the sympa logs.

Has anyone run into this before, or have a suggestion on how to start
unravelling this?

Thanks,
Warren
