Stephan,

- Do you find other log entries related to this process ID (12745)
  just before or after crashing?

  Logs may be saved not only in Sympa log but also in other system
  logs (e.g. /var/log/messages etc. on Linux) and in stderr output
  (<Sympa spool directory>/tmp/12745.stderr).

- If slave processes of bulk.pl were launched, are there log
  entries reporting they successfully started and stopped? And when
  they did?

- How much memory each bulk.pl process uses?  And does amount of
  usage change notably during its execution?

  How about usage of physical and swap memories in the server?
