Hi Stephan,

We're having the same issue after upgrading to 6.2.12.  The recommended fix that was mentioned in a previous email was to configure bulk.pl to never shutdown by adjusting bulk_lazytime to 9999 in sympa.conf and increasing bulk instances as well. I tried the fix, but mine continues to crash.

I wrote a script to check if bulk.pl is running and to restart the sympa service if it crashed until this issue is patched.

I have been using Sympa 6.2.3 on an old box for quite some time and never had any problems. I recently migrated to new servers and installed Sympa 6.2.12 there. In this constellation I have problems with bulk.pl which keeps crashing. It runs for a couple of hours or days and then vanishes. I ran it with --log_level=4 but in the logs there is no error before the crash. Today it crashed again and the last entry in the log was:

 

bulk[19623]: debug3 Sympa::Process::reap_child() Reaper unwaited PIDs: 18975 Open = 1

 

Since these messages appear all the time when running with log_level=4, this seems to be normal.

Is there any way to get to the bottom of this ? Is it possible to go back to 6.2.3 ? When started the newer version for the first time, a database upgrade took place.
