Hi,
Thanks für reacting so fast.
In my case, the senders are all members of the list and send direct mail to
the list, without doing a “reply to all”.
When such mail is received by non-Microsoft mail clients, the messages do
indeed NOT show this addition of «-request » and “on behalf of” in the
From-address.
The same messages DO show these additions in MS Outlook and Outlook
Webaccess.
I don’t find this behavior of MS mail clients straight forward, so if it
could be avoided/suppressed it would be great.

Hi,
a colleague of mine has realized the same issue just a few days ago.
She is list owner for some lists, where she is not a member.
Here she realized, that she received mails to the list, that were
obviously sent via "Reply-All" to the list. Here the mailclient sends
not just to the list, but also to the "<list>-request@..." address.
google pointed me to bug report #7293, which helped me to understand the
reason for this problem: The Sender header is added by sympa, and
Outlook misunderstands this as a secretary scenario. See
https://sourcesup.renater.fr/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=7293&group_id=23&atid=167
I'm not yet sure, what to do:
- leave it as it is,
- add a "remove_outgoing_headers" sympa option
- patch List.pm as suggested by N. Matthies
Any suggestions?
O. Menkens.
