Thanks very much for this script!  It seems to do most of what is needed.  However, I think it's then necessary to edit 

etc/data_structure.version

for the new version.  I'm not sure if "sympa.pl --upgrade" should still be run or not.  It just seems to hang indefinitely when I try, so maybe not....

For sympa <= 6.1.x users with a postgresql backend I made a small script
to ease the schema updates

http://kolter.openics.org/sympa_pgsql_diff.sh

You need curl and apgdiff (you can apt-get install them)

Example usage:

# ./sympa_pgsql_diff.sh 6.1.11 6.1.22 > 6.1.11_6.1.22.sql
# psql sympa < 6.1.11_6.1.22.sql
