For what it's worth, I know where to obtain a backported Sympa 6.1.20 .DEB
for Wheezy that works, though there may be issues with FCGI under Wheezy - if
you get this, set apache to run under the sympa userID or restart apache on a
nightly basis.

Your error message is saying that a column is missing from the table; it
seems that when backporting you may have accidentally preserved the old
database format from the previous version, so the package is creating the
wrong database schema but not subsequently upgrading because the version file
holds the new version.

I think you just need to identify the previous version (possibly the version
of the original spec file you modified to do the backport?) and set this in
the data format version file, then restart Sympa and it should automatically
upgrade the database schema for you. This is in
$SYMPAETC/data_structure.version
