You should run archived.pl in debug mode (run in terminal with -d option) to have more details. Send them to the list after.
You can, of course, already check whether your archive partition is not full, or f the Sympa user can write into that partition.
Thanks. It doesn't say anything unusual; I left it running while a message was sent to the list and failed to archive. Also I already made the quota change that Steve Dempsey suggested, which didn't help:
