You could do this by placing the email addresses into a file, one per line – eg, /etc/sympa/search_filters/donotcall.txt

Then create a subscription policy header like this – create the file /etc/sympa/scenari/include.subscribe.header with the line:

search(donotcall.txt) smtp,smime -> reject,quiet

This means that all incoming subscription attempts from these email addresses will be rejected, and so they cannot join lists, and so will not get emailed.

You can probably use the blacklist for a similar effect, although doing so will also prevent the blacklisted email addresses from sending to any public lists.  This may not be what you want.

You may still have the problem of addresses on the donotcall list sending to moderated lists and being sent a moderation notification.  To stop this, you would need to edit the appropriate send.xxxx scenari, to prepend the line you included in the subscribe header, rejecting emails from these addresses quietly.  Use ‘editorkey,quiet’ instead of ‘reject’ if you want the messages to still be queued for moderation, but not notified.

Alternatively, as has already been mentioned, you could place something in your local MTA to drop outbound emails from the Sympa server to addresses on the ‘donotcall’ list.

Subject: [sympa-users] A "do not call" list?

Is there any way to create a master "do not call" list within Sympa?  That is, a master repository of addresses for which absolutely no current or future Sympa lists should send any mail to?
