Is it possible that emails are sent via Sympa with the
list-email-address as sender (optionally) instead of the sender’s
email-address?

The problem is that some mail server deny messages from internal
addresses when they are sent via the external incoming mail servers.

I believe you could modify things the way you want by using Sympa's anonymous_sender setting, but honestly I don't think that's what you should do. I think this is one of those situations where the recipients' mail servers are clearly doing something they shouldn't (despite good intentions), and you should try to push back to get their admins to fix their servers.

The restriction on their mail servers is understandable in a way, but it really does not allow for entirely legitimate flexibility in the way people might use the Internet. Listservers provide one example, but you could also have an individual user sending through a foreign SMTP server because of firewall issues on a local network. Even if you work around the issue on your listserver, what about all the other listservers in the world that these users might also use? They will still have trouble there.

So I would tell the users to report the problem to their tech support, and if enough of them do that, tech support should get the message and figure out that they're doing something broken. If efforts in that direction fail, then I would apply a workaround like the anonymous_sender setting.
