We are setting up a Sympa server on our campus and I have a question.
When a new list is created, Sympa checks its internal list of listnames to
make sure the new listname is not a duplicate. When a new list is created
what we would like to do is check the name against our campus ldap directory
to verify that the listname is not already taken by a user/department name on
campus (we are using the same domain for lists, as for campus users,
@calpoly.edu). We could create a flat file from our campus ldap if necessary,
or we could do a sql query against our ldap server if that was possible.
Has anyone set up their Sympa server to do this type of checking? Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
