I run a smallish home system with a server managing a couple of mailing
lists.
I'm in the process of moving everything to a new server and am trying to
decide how to migrate the Sympa.

Right now the installation is more than a bit 'organic' - I started with 2.3
(or somewhere down there) and am now running 5.2.1. The lists are web
accessable with wwsympa running under Apache. Over the years I've hammered
fixes and such into place so I'd like to start the install over again on the
new system and then move the list processing and archives.

The new system is running the latest install of Mandriva which comes with an
older Sympa (6.0?). But it is integrated into the management, an advantage
of sorts over one I'd have to work into the management routines. I didn't
really want to use Mandriva given its recent problems, but it installs very
cleanly unlike other distros I tried.

So: what's the best path here? Pull the MySQL subscribers DB and archives
across and try and fixup the configuration in Sympa? Maybe 'downgrade' the
new install by installing 5.2.1, pulling the existing lists across and then
incrementally upgrading Sympa? The current servers and such are OK for now,
so I can spend some time working out the process, just need pointers to the
easiest path.
