Hi Omen,

There has been  alot of bug fixes in the 6.0.2 and the 6.0.3 versions.
So upgrading to 6.0.3 is good thing anyway.

Moving on.

The fist question that comes to my mind is: what were the rights on the bulk.pid file when it happened?

Regards,

David

We recently rolled Sympa 6.0.1 out to production here on campus and
have run into an issue where all bulk.pl processes die off. I have
attached the logfile for the bulk processes around the time of the
problem. The short story is that at 12:06:01 two extra bulk.pl exited
due to inactivity, some more messages got sent, then 50 minutes later:
Jun 22 12:53:27 penny-2 bulk[2813]: [ID 702911 local1.error] Could not open /var/sympa/bulk.pid, exiting
Jun 22 12:53:27 penny-2 bulk[2813]: [ID 702911 local1.error] Exiting.

We restarted Sympa at 13:22 and everything started working correctly
after that.

Jun 22 13:22:31 penny-2 bulk[7597]: [ID 702911 local1.info] Configuration file read, default log level 0

I see from the 6.0.3 changelog that there have been some bug fixes to
bulk.pl, but none seem to cover this issue.

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
   Omen
