a little more information:

/etc/init.d/sympa status shows:
bulk died, pid file remains.

but pgrep bulk.pl shows two processes running

the last three lines in syslog, from bulk, are:
f9789ca17c to list address@concealed (priority 5) in 2 
seconds since scheduled expedition date. Now sending VERP.
May 19 18:47:10 server1 bulk[28542]: Process 28542 didn't send any 
message since 600 seconds, exiting.
May 19 18:47:10 server1 bulk[28542]: bulk.pl exited normally due to signal

So... is this normal behavior, or is something wrong that I need to 
track down (and if so... suggestions please).
