The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Hello,

every time I send a post on a list, bulk.pl crashes and so no more posts 
were delivered. I've sympa 6.0.1 installed from source on debian lenny.

If I grep the sympa.log the only suspicious line is

Bulk::get_remaining_packets_count() Unable to execute SQL statement 
(while trying to count remaining packets in bulkmailer_table) "SELECT 
COUNT(*) FROM bulkmailer_table" : MySQL server has gone away

but that's not true, mysql is running further on.
/etc/init.d/sympa status says, that the PID from bulk.pl is there but no 
process.

What can I do, to find the error?
