The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Hi!
I'm tring to install sympa and I follow the guide in www.sympa.org but I have 
some problem:
I install mysql db and perl modules but then the guide tells that is 
necessary to define a new user before install sympa.
How this user is?Ad where I must define the usere?in /etc/passwd?
I have an otheq question: sympa's pakage is in /root..is necessary to put 
this in /home/sympa or this directory will be created automatically when I 
will install sympa?
