Hi - I use the following settings to include ldap group members, may
work better for you:

Suffix: OU=Clients,DC=massey,DC=ac,DC=nz
-- base OU to retrieve users from
Filter:
(&(mailnickname=*)(memberOf=CN=GroupName,OU=Groups,DC=massey,DC=ac,DC=nz
))      -- only include users in this group

In admin->editlist config->data source->ldap_query
I specify

suffix: cn=marketing,ou=fe,dc=infn,dc=it
second filter:(&(objectClass=person)(objectClass=groupofuniquenames))

It is correct?
