Hi,

Looks like the issue has been resolved.
We are making use of customised templates so we copied the old
ones over the new install.
It appears that the arc.tt2 file differs slightly in the latest release.
Restoring the new arc file has solved the problem.

Cheers

Subject: [sympa-users] RE: Problems moving lists to new server

Hi,

I got side tracked for a while so was not able to investigate this further.
I start to wonder if it has something to do with a name resolution issue.
This is what I have tried last week

We have a production sympa server (5.2.2) with a hostname of
lists.mydomain.com.
I am migrating this to a new server called server-lists1(RHEL 5 running on a
virtual machine) and we will be using
version 5.3.3 .
I have stopped the production server and migrated everything. We want to make
use of lists.mydomain.com.
I have refered to lists.mydomain.com in all the configuration files (postfix,
sympa, httpd)
In the DNS we have an A record for tur-lists1 and lists pointing to the
server as well as an MX record referring to lists.
We basically have a fully functional system except for the archives.

We also had a server we use for developing purposes ( server-listsdev1, RHEL
4 in Virtual machine, sympa 5.2.2)
After moving the archives and configuration from our production server I had
a working environment but no archives.
Then I realized it could have something to do that the archives were named
referring to our production server.
When I changed the archive directory naming from address@concealed to
address@concealed
they started to work just fine.

Unfortunately I cannot get this to work on our new production server. It does
not make a difference
how the archive directory is named. I tried referring them to both A records

Further more, new messages posted since move of the archives do not appear
either.
I also tried deleting an specific list archive folder. When I send emails to
that specific list,
the directory gets recreated and the message appears on the server but it
just will not appear
on the web interface

Hope this all make sense

Hi Guy,

Apart from the visibility problem, the logs seem normal.
Could you add temporarily me to your vmware-supp ML so that I can
experiment this strange behavior ?
