Hi David,

The footer_type parameter is a list parameter (with default value 
'mime'). You cannot set a default value for it in sympa.conf.
However you can ask for a default_footer_type sympa.conf parameter to be 
added : https://sourcesup.cru.fr/tracker/?group_id=23
