Does Sympa not attach footers to HTML or dual-format mail?

If you choose the MIME footer type, it will attach the footer to all messages, but if you choose the append type, it will append only to plaintext messages and do nothing to HTML or multipart messages. This is a terrible behavior, as you always want a footer of some kind, and everybody wants them appended (not attached) whenever possible, right?

So I cooked up a third footer type I call "flex" that just chooses between append and MIME (attach) based on the type of the incoming message. I think I've submitted that to the Sympa bugtracker at some point, but maybe not. At the moment I'm in the middle of trying to upgrade our Sympa code from 5.1.2 to 5.2.4, so I can't provide the most useful patch right now.

(There should also be a way to have a mandatory default footer for every list, giving at a minimum the list name and unsubscribe instructions, and I did submit a patch for that but it was an ugly hack and didn't fit with the Sympa plans for templating the footers.)
