Hi - thanks also to Serge and Vadim for their comments.
I'm not too concerned about configuring Sympa for performance; stability
is a bigger issue for me. I'm replacing a majodomo system of just under
1000 lists (although when Sympa goes live - I'm expecting that to
increase simply because Sympa is so much better to use!) - so probably
isn't a large system in the scale of things. At this stage I really
don't have a feel for the amount of traffic on the lists so I was unsure
whether 36Gb disks would be large enough, I guess it will be a case of
wait and see. As Dale has mentioned below though, shouldn't be too much
hassle to upgrade the disks at a later date.
The only problem I've got with my current setup is that filling up the
archives will probably bring Sympa down. If the archives are on a
separate volume, and that volume fills up - will Sympa still function,
albeit without archiving messages? If not, then I guess my current
configuration will be fine.
Regards,
Michael Ward

Filling up 36GB with archives means you must have a lot of lists,
list traffic, or both.
Since you're mirroring it, you might not have to do anything special.
When you eventually run low on space, break the mirror, replace one
of the 36GB drives with something larger, copy over the live data
from the remaining 36GB drive, replace that with a new, larger drive
as well, and recreate your mirror.
