You should be able to take the mail and import it directly into the archive.
There are a number of tools available to do this, if you can export the mail
in the right format (eg: mbox).
Look in the Contribs section on sympa.org
( http://www.sympa.org/contrib.html ), particularly at mbox2sympa.pl by Adam
Bernstein. I'm pretty sure this ships by default in the contribs/ dir of the
sympa tarball. This will allow you to import mbox archives into a sympa
archive.
If you've moved from another mailing list manager and it has an archive, you
may be able to import from that format instead. Look through the scripts in
the contrib section.
PS: Hey there, didn't expect to run into you here.
