Yes you can do like this but it won't do anything : intantiate a family means to create or modify a set of lists that belongs to the family. Instantiation is no more.

$> ./bin/sympa.pl --instantiate_family LIST --robot domain.org --input_file
list.xml 
Family::new(list,daniol.fib.upc.edu) : the family directory does not exist
The family LIST does not exist, impossible instantiation
  

The family name must be in lowercase (and the directory)

What it is wrong? if my directory exist and I have files?Perhaps sympa is
directed to an another path.Who can I do to test this?
What I have to do? to instantiate a family without add any list.
