The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

I use this to create a family name list, this directory is created, and
contains two mandatory files.I only want to instantiate the family and after i
will do add_list command. Is for this reason that I create a empy file with:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<family>
</family>


 this to only instantiate the family.

$> ./bin/sympa.pl --instantiate_family LIST --robot domain.org --input_file
list.xml 
Family::new(list,daniol.fib.upc.edu) : the family directory does not exist
The family LIST does not exist, impossible instantiation

What it is wrong? if my directory exist and I have files?Perhaps sympa is
directed to an another path.Who can I do to test this?
What I have to do? to instantiate a family without add any list.
