For anyone who might be interested:

After a bit of digging, I discovered two useful things:

1. The mhonarc distribution includes a tool for converting HTML-formatted messages back into mailbox format.

2. mhonarc (or perhaps the Sympa archiver) leaves a text copy of each message in a directory, with file names in an easy to sort sequence:
e.g.,
/home/sympa/arc/<listname>/2005-08/arctxt
containing files named: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

I guess a simple cat command is all I need!

Cheers,

Miles

Hi Folks,

We just held a long planning discussion on a sympa list. Now I'd like to edit the archives into a report.

Can anybody recommend tools and/or procedures for extracting all the HTML-encoded messages in the list archive into a Word file for easier editing?

Thanks very much,

I'am afraid the best tool is : Ctrl+c Ctrl+v :-(

Some guys ask us to create a long page with all the messages inline. I don't known if mhonarc provide such page... It should make "copy/paste" a quite good tool for your need. May be you can search it in mhonarc.org or ask some mhonarc mailing list about your issue.
