The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

I am looking for suggestions on how to programatically create and  
populate new mailing lists in Sympa (5.0.1).

One example of what we are trying to do is to automatically create a  
new mailing list for every course offered by the University, owned by  
the instructor and have all of the students registered for the class  
as subscribers.

I can create XML files and call sympa.pl to create the lists but how  
do I subscribe the students?

If I have a list of students how do I "send" that list to sympa?

If the students are in an LDAP group how do I tell Sympa to include  
that group?
