Hi all,

I've just been contacted by a subscriber to one of my lists who says
that their IPS (onetel.net.uk) have changed over all their email
customers to new addresses - same user name but at onetel.com instead.

They are apparently not forwarding on email from the old domain names.

Sending email to the old domain produces:

Please note that this email address is no longer in use. It has
changed from ending @onetel.net.uk to end @onetel.com. For example

address@concealed has changed to address@concealed

Please resend your message to the correct (@onetel.com) address.

This is clearly a problem. Mailing list members can't access their old
addresses, so can't get their passwords to update their settings. I have
several hundred onetel members on my server. Presumably other sympa list
managers do also.

Aside from complaining to Onetel about this very abrupt denial of
service to their customers, I need a way to alter the sympa database
table to search for one mail domain and replace with another without
changing the local part of the email addresses - i.e. a bulk select and
replace.

Has anyone written such a script? Or is there an easy way to do this in
MySQL that I don't know about?

Any advice welcome.

Nick
