This bug fixe is mandatory to use encryption, so you should use sympa 3.4.4.3 or beter sympa-4.0.b2. (to be relesed in a few days), both include this fixe. Sympa-4 include some others fixes related to S/MIME.

Thank you, Serge. I was hoping it was functional (or close to functional) under 3.4.2 and I could start using it without an upgrade. It doesn't sound like there is much point in fighting 3.4.2 to get it working, though, so I guess I will start planning an upgrade.

Is the upcoming sympa-4.0.b2 release you mention different than the sympa-4.0.b2.tar.gz listed at <http://www.sympa.org/distribution/> and dated 12-Jan-2004? And is 4.0.x branch stable enough for production use?

Cheers,

Glenn
