i was unaware of the fact that this can happen (is supposed to happen)
automatically at all.

i have a similar problem and i was shown a very neat hack by another
subscriber on here that i used:

with that you only need to do the aliases once for every virtual host, and
new lists do not need to have any additional aliases to be put anywhere
