Well, yes, how should I phrase it? Let's just say I never saw this
problem until I read your posting.

I know that the sympa.pl grows in memory over time. I usually solve this
by restarting it from time to time or increasing the memory of the
machine should it be necessary. Since your processes leave their pid
files maybe the kernel shoves them into oblivion.

Did you try using both unix and inet sockets for logging?

I am using SYMPA together with Perl versions beginning from 5.6.0 and I
have never encountered problems like yours. Which Perl version are you
running?

Sorry for the rather meager answers, but I didn't want to make something
up. ;-)
