Hmmm... no responses yet...  Has anyone else had this problem, the four background processes (sympa.pl, task_manager.pl, bounced.pl, and archived.pl) are started, everything seems to be runing ok, then "poof"... no more entries in the logs, and the processes are gone, the pid files are still there though... 

 

When run under the screen application, this is the last item that appeared in the terminal when "sympa.pl -d" died:

 

connect: Permission denied (SOCK_DGRAM after trying SOCK_STREAM) at /www/sympa/bin/log.pm line 96

 

I do not know what this means for sure... why now after several hours, and occasionally days of running...  If I start sympa.pl to run without the -d option, the process usually dies in a few minutes, usually in less than an hour, no more than 2hrs...  I've looked at log.pm and don't see anything that would cause this... Is this a transient error due to some other conflict?  Is there a perl module upgrade that is needed?  The system isn't giving me much to work with here... :/

A while back I posted that the four processes started for sympa-3.4.2 were dieing.... It was suggested that i try to use Screens and run sympa.pl -D and watch for the failure...  I tried this and as soon as I did it, it ran for 5 days without dieing..  well...

 

I attached to one of the detached screens and found this as the las entry:

I am not sure what this means...but this was the output I was asked to send here to figure out what is happening...  Also, why would this run for anywhere from a frew hours to a few days and then die???

 

I set the log level in sympa.conf to 4 today and restarted from the init.d file...

 

Below is a capture of the last portions of the log file, after the last time the information appears to repeat.  I don't see any tell-tale-signs in the log of anything going wrong... just an end of the log reporting when the processes die... 

 

Any ideas as to what is happening would be greatly appreciated..
