thank you for your quick response!
A few minutes ago I found the cause by myself -- I am a BIG fool!
In httpd.conf of Apache it was the "ScriptAlias" directive:
I wrote
ScriptAlias /wws /home/sympa/bin/wwsympa.fcgi/
instead of
ScriptAlias /wws /home/sympa/bin/wwsympa.fcgi
A really stupid mistake ...
