Hurray!!!  I finally got everything working, I think...  I used this config:

./configure --prefix=/www/sympa --with-bindir=/www/sympa/bin --with-sbindir=/www/sympa/bin --with-libexecdir=/www/sympa/bin --with-cgidir=/www/sympa/cgi --with-iconsdir=/www/sympa/icons --with-datadir=/www/sympa/bin/etc --with-confdir=/etc --with-expldir=/www/sympa/expl --with-libdir=/www/sympa/bin --with-piddir=/www/sympa --with-sendmail_aliases=/etc/sympa/aliases --with-virtual_aliases=/etc/sympa/domainaliases --with-postmap=/www/sympa/bin/POSTMAP

However, Now I need to know how to adjust the sendmail.cf file directly to use /etc/aliases & /etc/sympa/aliases and /etc/domainaliases & /etc/sympa/domainaliases...

The directives in the sendmail.cf currently seem to be:

#domainaliases file
Kdomainaliases btree /etc/domainaliases

# location of alias file
O AliasFile=/etc/aliases

Or do I have to manually append the contents of each of these to the main aliases and domainaliases files... hmmm, grr.
