I'm coming back with a reply to an old post :

Is there some configuration parameter for hiding the email addresses of archived postings? I'm a little bit concerned that someone could fairly easily write an address harvester and I'd like to make it a bit difficult.

I did introduce 2 new parameters in sympa.conf :
spam_protection and web_archive_spam_protection. All templates and mhonarc ressources are changed in order to reflex this change. This is available in CVS tree :

http://listes.cru.fr/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/sympa/doc/sympa/node5.html#SECTION00515000000000000000

Current version allow javascript and cookie protection :
- cookie protection is the old archive protection mode. None email
sniffer never collect trap email that we had in our archives, but
mode also block google bot.

- javascript replace email by a javascript. If you look at sources
from sympa-users archives using "view source" in your brother you
may all emails but if you disable javascript you will see
javascript source. We beleive email-sniffer do not interpret
it.

Do these changes (I haven't tested the CVS version) also protect the addresses of the list administrators and moderators in the left column ?

Antoine.
