The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Hi,

Here's my problem:
When people sign up to my mailing list, I'd like to get other info besides 
their email address, such as their name, zip code etc...
I could easily set up a seperate database to do this and have Sympa include 
that database. But what would happen with the user_table? How can I still get 
Sympa to send out a welcome message to newly added users? Would a new entry 
be created in the user_table storing the password sent out to them in the 
welcome message?

Sorry, I'm a little unclear on how to best work this out.
