Hi,

I heard release of sympa-6.1.18 is in February. I'd not committed
several bug fixes.
Sorry Soji. I said I wanted to release 6.1.18 as soon as possible. I'm
deeply sorry if I didn't make me clear.

However it is not really a problem: we can issue a 6.1.19 whenever we
wat to. Just tak your time to fix bugs. We can release a 6.1.19 next
month when you feel it's OK.
And I have the perfect opportunity to test all the fixes and changes in
6.1.18 : We organize a training session next week. So I will make the
trainees use the new 6.1.18 and make sure all the changes we did are OK.
Then I will announce the 6.1.18.
Don't worry, and please announce 6.1.18. I was just a bit surprised
on sudden release works.

Bugs may be fixed anytime (anymay, it works!), but what I always
feel sorry is that "loss time" for translation is not given.
Release plan would be better to be announced at least on
sympa-translators list, if it is possible...
Taht's the kind of thing I must ensure. Having a proper release plan
will certainly ease this.
So for next releases, I'll write to translators a week before releasing.
Anyway, we will issue a 6.1.19 next month with the next bug fixes and
that time, I will write to the list.
Thank you for your consideration toward release process.

And though this is _not_ urgent question at all, I have been
interested in what you are doing when Sympa is released (how to
update catalogs etc.). I want to know it at some time or other.
Sure. I'm using a perl script that handles all this. I don't have it at home but I can send you this script as soon as I'm back to work.

Now that you tackle the issue of version, I had a talk with my
management this week and this what they want me to do in terms of Symp
releases this year:
<<snip: I'll comment to remainder in other days.>>
OK. And I'll answer to the several mails Guillaume and you sent over the
last 8 days. I'm soory I couldn't do it but my organization is being
re-organized (second time in two years!) and we find difficult to fit
out ordinary missions between the extraordinary mettings that we need to
attend...
Sure, such a things are common in the real world, like the Cabinet
of Japan, the Governor of Tokyo, ... (we have to go to polls at
next month again <S>).

Please focus on immediate jobs. I hope Formation Sympa event to
be successful.
Sure, I worked last week for it, so I think everything is on track now.

Have a nice week-end!

Cheers,

David
