Hi,
thanks for sympa, it is a great program. :-)
Just a suggestion:
sympa supports multiple mailing lists, but not
several list "spaces".
What I want to say:
Imagine you are hosting several domains on one
machine, e.g. aaa.de, bbb.com, ccc.fr.
What I'd like to have is, that sympa could
distinguish between the mailing lists for each of these
domains.
This means:
- seperate configurations
- distinguish between lists address@concealed and address@concealed
- when user asks for a catalog of mailing lists (LISTS command),
answer with the catalog belonging to the domain, not just
all lists on the host.
Most of these things could be done by simpy starting several
daemons with different config files. This could be improved by
making the daemon able to serve several config files at the
same time.
More complicated is queue and bouncequeue, because there is no way to
use them with different config files and queue dirs, except recompile
it for every domain.
Here I'd like to suggest:
- Have an additional parameter which allows to choose
the config file or the queue dir or
- Take the full mail address and use the domain name as
a key to the config file or queue dir.
regards
Hadmut
