DBD::mariadb is an absolute drop-in replacement for DBD::mysql.  I am 
running net-mail/sympa-6.2.70, dev-db/mariadb-11.8.5-r1, and 
dev-perl/DBD-MariaDB-1.240.0 and it Just Works.  No changes to sympa are 
necessary.
