Dear Jens, 

it seems that my freezing was related to some missing Tables. I set the 
Sympa-Logvel to value 3 and could the that there were a lot of entries were 
Sympa could not change Database entries because of a missing table. 
I then removed the Sympa package including the Database and reinstalled it. 
Thank you for the notice with the standard in, this also fixed my 
syntaxproblem with sympa add. 

Sympa -v displays Version 6.2.76. This might be the Version from Debian 
unstable. The Server was set up a few days before the official release for 
Debian12 stable.

I just opened an issue regarding the option warnings:

freeze on my end, "sympa check" just runs without another issue. Do you 
just see the freeze with sympa add? If that's the case: You noticed it 
expects data on STDIN
