When I tried to setup a multi-domain system one of the files for the virtual address mapping wasn't adding the domain.ext to the email addresses. That was due to a template only writing email addresses without the domain name added. 

If that template was changed i think that would solve the problem.

Speaking for myself, I had no real difficulty setting it up for
single-domain (beyond the figure-it-out-as-you-go process of porting the
installation to Gentoo).  However, when I tried to set it up for
multi-domain, I could not get anywhere.

So I think there is perhaps something in the multi-domain instructions
that is either missing, or easy to get wrong in non-obvious ways.
